Nice job. I watched the two side by side and you did a pretty good job. The original scene is pretty creepy when the kid runs in. I love the color in your re-creation. It's well exposed, with a rich striking color. I would suggest when you are done editing making two cuts. One with this nice color and the other will a filter that kills the color. I would test, strife, tritone, or dream and combat which gives you a toned down color.
The lighting looks great. I can't wait to see what you put together with the soundtrack. I also like to filter Jackie suggest, but if you do this try not to lose too much of the rich yellows. I can sit down with you at some point to do color grading.
